Starting with Friday night, we had a wonderful time at our bbq! Everyone brought their own meat, steaks mostly, Erik cooked garlic bread and I cooked some vegetables. We sat around for a while, played some games and ate.
At the bbq
It ended up just being Daniel, Erik and me going out afterwards but we had so much fun! We went to a club called Fridays and, I tell you what, it is NOTHING like going to a club in the states. The clubs (or ‘Discos’ as the Danish say) are not skanky with rap music, they play fun music called house music – techno beats! Everyone was so funny to watch, I loved it! We were there for a few hours and took a taxi home.

grab a taxi. It's quite efficient!
Yesterday was a very relaxing day. Unfortunately, I woke up TOO early coughing and could never fall back asleep so I was running off of three hours of sleep :/ Daniel, Erik, and I went to Subway and just hung out. Later that evening, we went to a friend Matt’s place and met a few Danish visitors. One of them had studied here before but they were just passing through. They were a wild group but so sweet! My three hours of sleep caught up with me soon enough and I went in around 10.

Today has been great as well. Woke up too early, once again, but fortunately got much more sleep :) Erik came over and we walked to Chancellor's Park where the main grocery store is. We ate a very healthy lunch and then headed to Woolworths, the main grocery store.
So... I purchased instant cappuccino
and this was the end result...
America! Get with the program!
This was the wisest invention ever - no spill!
Jag och Erik stal en kundvagn!
"Erik and I stole a shopping cart!" in Swedish
It better be CPS!!! It is going to take over the world!!
ReplyDeletesee? not all clubs suck. it seems like it's only the american versions that are quite so skanky and obnoxious.
ReplyDeletei had friends steal a shopping cart when i was in finland. we all used it for transporting our groceries and recyclables. seems its the exchange student thing to do. glad you're having heaps of fun!
btw, you should try a meat pie at some point. they're yummy!
I love that you are having so much fun mama. I miss you so much.

I'm betting chicken pasta salad is on the menu :D
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you substitute local ingredients so we can try it here if they're available. I hope it's as good down under as it is here!
We prayed for you in Sunday school this morning. I also had a praise for the Jayne family and we had a prayer of thanksgiving for putting them in your path on the way to Oz. They were such a blessing to you, and really put our minds at ease.
love you lots -
