The beach...

“Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.”
-Anonymous

Diving in… Saturday was absolutely awesome! I woke up and was fed delicious banana pancakes and then headed to the beach. We had SO much fun!

 I accidentally finished the pancakes

before the picture... typical me!

We laid out for a while and a few of us went in the water. It was chilly but not nearly as cold as the Pacific, even in the summer time. I was not intending on going under but… let’s just say that plan didn’t last long with boys around. After the wind started to pick up, we packed up and went in search for ice cream. Sini, from Finland, informed us of an incredible Gelato shop – they had every flavor you could possibly think of and were all amazing. We then walked down to O’Malley’s Pub – there’s apparently live music and entertainment every night so we’ll have to look in to that sometime.

The boys took the first plunge

and Kiry arrived
This will never get old...
Magnus thought the "Winter Warming Suggestions"
was quite ironic as we lay on the beach and ate gelato ;)
Afternoon delight

How can you not believe in God

when you witness something like this?

I just couldn't stop...
My awe is never-ending!

On the way back to Uni, I mentioned that I needed to go to the grocery store. Chris and Magnus gave quite the dinner offer that I was quite thankful to take. Boy, I did not know I was dealing with gourmet chefs… it was absolutely amazing!!! Basted and sautéed chicked, carmelized onions and broccoli, penne pasta, and an incredible cabbage salad with watermelon, tomatoes, and feta. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I owe them big time!

My incredible chefs for the night

And my unforgettable dinner!

Swedish candy - salt and licorice
It was... delicious!

We ended up just hanging around last night at my place but we had a great time, like always. Eventually everyone headed their separate ways and I went to bed. Today, being Sunday the day of rest, was very lazy… I think we were all thankful for it after a jam-packed weekend. We had intentions of getting sushi this afternoon but no one had the energy so it’s been rescheduled to Tuesday – I need my sushi soon so that’s definitely something to look forward to! Tonight we barbequed again and watched the Butterfly Effect. I thought there were supposed to be multiple alternative endings but we couldn’t find them. Anyway I’m off to bed now – Uni tomorrow! I have quite a bit of studying to do already. Fortunately I’m looking forward to my classes – I have a feeling it’s going to be an incredible semester J

 Barbequing boys!

Love y’all so so so much

(By the way mom, I have no idea what the parachuting man was doing - I was hoping you could help me!)

  1. Cabbage salad with feta and watermelon? Sounds oddly refreshing - and delicious! I hope you're keeping track of these culinary delights so that you can reconstruct them when you get back home...

Um, don't worry about the instant cappuccino or the Swedish candy - I think I'll pass on those. And let me know if/when you get your parcel that I sent. I'll let you know if it ends up back at our house. :/

I loved the God references with your beautiful ocean photos. I had been thinking how much you would have enjoyed Pastor Jeff's sermon this morning, about how prayer can be dangerous sometimes - God can take your prayers as just a starting point, not a destination, and call you to go farther than you'd ever imagined, which usually involves stepping way out of your comfort zone. You've always been so brave about that, and you put your trust in God to be there beside you on the journey. And look where it's taken you so far - to the other side of the world! And what do you know, God's still right there with you.

Thanks for the closure on the parachuter. Sorry, I have no answers for you. I suppose this will remain one of life's little mysteries :)
